Why work with a Richmond studio

Locally based, easy to work with.

We’re based in Richmond, and we understand the importance of presenting your actual services, service areas and business information clearly. A local customer should be able to tell within moments what you do, where you do it and how to reach you.

Working with us is meant to be easy, too. Every project runs through a clear, flexible, email-first process: a written scope, defined review stages and online previews you can look at when it suits your schedule. There’s no office visit or sales call to fit around your work.

  • Accurate local details. When your website describes where you work, from the city itself to nearby counties such as Henrico, Chesterfield or Hanover, it should say so plainly and match the rest of your business information.
  • Decisions in writing. Scope, starting prices and what’s billed separately are agreed before work begins, so nothing depends on remembering a phone call.

If you’re outside Richmond, nothing changes: the same packages, prices and process apply nationwide.

What a local website needs

What local customers look for before they contact you.

When someone in the Richmond area searches for a contractor, a salon or a landscaper, they often decide within a few screens whether to reach out. A useful local small-business website makes those screens count:

  • Where you work. Name the areas you genuinely serve in one clear section, for example “Richmond, Henrico and western Chesterfield”. You don’t need a separate page for every town.
  • What you do. Services described in plain language, with enough detail that a visitor knows they’re in the right place.
  • Proof that’s real. Your own project photos, your real reviews and accurate business details. Never borrowed images or invented testimonials.
  • An easy next step. A short contact or quote form, plus a visible email address or phone number, easy to reach on a phone.
  • A site that works on phones. Many local visitors will look you up on a phone, often while comparing a few businesses at once.

We plan every page around those questions. To see how this comes together in a complete concept site, explore our Riverstone concept case study.

Local search, explained plainly

Your website and your Google Business Profile work together.

For many local businesses, the map listing in Google results comes from a Google Business Profile, not from the website itself. That profile belongs to you: you create and verify it with Google, and you manage your own reviews.

Your website supports it. We use the business name, contact details and service area you provide consistently, so they match what customers see on your profile. Each service gets a clear page or section, and every package includes foundational on-page SEO setup: page titles, descriptions, headings and image descriptions.

No designer can honestly promise a ranking or a map position, and we don’t. What we aim for is a website that’s clear, consistent and easy for both customers and search engines to understand.

Questions

Questions Richmond business owners ask.

Do you only work with Richmond businesses?

No. We’re based in Richmond and work with small businesses across the United States. Local and out-of-state projects follow the same process and pricing.

Can we meet in person?

PixelWielder is based in Richmond, Virginia, and works remotely with businesses locally and nationwide. Projects begin with a short online inquiry and typically continue through email, with previews you review online.

Will a new website get us into Google’s map results?

Map results are driven mainly by your Google Business Profile, which you own and manage. A clear website with consistent business details supports it, but no one can guarantee a position.

Who owns the website and domain?

You ordinarily control and pay for your domain and website platform plan directly, in your own accounts. Ownership, renewals and what’s delivered are agreed in writing as part of your scope. See how this works in our process.

Is there a monthly fee?

Our design fee is project-based, not a monthly design subscription. Your domain, platform plan and hosting are separate costs, ordinarily billed to you directly by those providers, and they renew on their own schedules. There’s no bundled ongoing maintenance; later changes are quoted separately.

What does a website cost?

Essential starts from $995, Business from $1,995 and Custom from $3,495. These are starting prices, not fixed all-inclusive quotes, and Custom is priced by written proposal. Compare what each package includes.
